    The scroll opens with a decorative cartouche containing the coat of arms of the owner, Joshua son of Samuel Sanguini (also Sanguineti) the emblem is a wolf rampant next to a verdant tree. Below, in a decorative frame, is Joshua’s colophon stating that he wrote the megillah in Shevat 5266 (1606). The text columns are written within architectural frames and separated by pillars entwined with flowers and foliage The lower margin is filled with scrolling vines and foliate decoration.
