These broadsides were written to commemorate various special occasions in the lives of

this miscellaneous collection, many of them from Modena, the poems were commissioned for
marriages, a birth, and other events. Some of the families include Belgradi, Consigli, al-
Constantini, Levi, Sinegaglia, and Sanguinetti. In the first poem, the presence of Rabbi Ishmael
ha-Kohen of Modena (1723-1811), a world-renowned halakhic authority, is noted.
