This explanation and elaboration of the 613 commandments, a popular abridgment of Moses ben Jacob of Coucy’s Sefer Mitsvot Gadol, was produced in France in the early to mid-14th century. The dating is taken from a divorce agreement (get) added to the end of the document (269v). The final leaf is torn, presumably to remove the name of the censor, most likely Dominico Irosolomitano. The divorce document can be partially restored indicating the date 19 Kislev 5100 (i.e., 1339).
