    The Jews of the Comtat Venaissin were distinctive for using a liturgy based on the old Provençal rite. This volume contains a set of liturgies from the Provençal rite, one from that of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, and the other from that of Carpentras. It contains a variety of prayer for the High Holidays, including:

    (1) L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue

    (a) ashmorot for the six weekdays followed by one for the Fast of Gedalia;

    (b) ashmorot for the ten Days of Awe;

    (c) the Yom Kippur liturgy;

    (2) Carpentras

    (a) the liturgy for the eve and morning of Rosh ha-Shanah.
