    Comments:

Moses Marx (1875-1973) spent much of his life compiling bibliographical data pertaining to Hebraica and Judaica. His main effort was devoted to compiling a comprehensive bibliography of Hebrew printing in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, with secondary focus on German printing and to lesser degrees the remainder of Hebrew print.

His enigmatic notebooks were intended to be the foundation for his own books detailing the history of Hebrew printing and publishing. The ambitious project proved too much for just one scholar, yet his manuscripts remain a an expansive resource.
