This community register (pinkas) of the Jewish community of Hildesheim comprises protocols of board meetings, financial accounts, bequests, copies of responsa, letters, and so forth. Largely in Yiddish, it concerns Hildesheim as well as the town’s connections with Berlin, Braunschweig, Cleve, Dessau, Hamburg, Prague, inter alia. Beginning on leaf 38r it touches on the “liquidation” order of Duke Frederick William. Leaf 152r begins regulations dated 1785 concerning religious matters and functionaries.
