early 19th century
ink, pigment, and water color on paper, 84 leaves (26.4 x 20.6); Ashkenazi cursive Hebrew script
This work deals with calculating the leap year along with reckoning holidays, seasons, and their interpretation. As with other manuscript copies of this work, this volume contains numerous charts and tables as well as cutouts and calculation wheels. The decorations are richly illuminated, mostly in red, black, and brown, the pigments having been applied often quite thickly. A large number of pages, though lined, have been left blank.
