This work deals with calculating the leap year along with reckoning holidays, seasons, and their interpretation. This copy is filled with ornamental decorations and illustrations as well as charts, tables, and other matter for conducting calendrical reckonings. Many pull-out pages as well as cutouts with attached paper wheels are included to aid those calculations. The folk-art decorations are splendidly rendered, notably depictions of the heavenly spheres and the zodiac. The text concludes with a poem of mourning on the death of the artist’s father in 1781.
