This anonymous commentary on Pirke Avot includes extensive Biblical quotations from the Bible and is followed by prayers, ethical sayings, and a poem. What makes this a charming text is the elaborate red, black, and yellow decorations of initial words and blank spaces. The illustrations include not only geometric designs but organic matter as well, such as leaves, trees, birds, and at the very end a curious ram-like doodle.
