Avraham ben Mordecai Galante
Hayyim Joseph David Azulai
This manuscript contains the novellae of the famous Spanish talmudist Yom Tov ben Avraham Ishbili on Tractate Sukkah. Ishbili’s novellae were at one point nearly standard elements of Talmudic commentary. What makes this manuscript significant is its provenance, having been copied by the Italian kabbalist Avraham Galante and owned at one point by Hayyim Joseph David Azulai (Hida; 1724-180).
