written on the occasion of a banquet, which seems to have been held by patrons to support a
(b) from the Trieste Jewish community: a poem written by Matsliah Romanini in honor of a visit
by Yitshak Altaras (Jacques Isaac of Marseilles, d. 1873) to Trieste in 1865;
(c) from the Trieste Jewish community: a prayer written by Jacob Raphael Ashkenazi to be
recited before the grace at a family reunion on Shavuot, 1866;
(d) from the Trieste Jewish community: a poem for Moses Isaac ben Samuel Ashkenazi
(Tedeschi) (1821-1898) in honor of his 52 nd birthday, written by his brother Jacob Ashkenazi,
dated Shavuot, 1973.
