    Subject:
    Haggadah

This Haggadah also contains a commentary by Isaac Abravanel as well as a mystical commentary. The oil-paint miniatures largely follow the prototype of the 1712 Amsterdam Haggadah. The miniatures of the Ten Plagues are arranged in columns and rows, similar to the depiction of Aaron’s breastplate on the title page; the fourth plague, “wild beasts,” includes a canine, a bear, and a stag, the latter apparently a whimsical addition.
