    This volume contains a collection of 4 different set of novellae (hidushim) on the Talmud by Shemu’el Ben Zaken, a Moroccan rabbi of Spanish exile descent: (1) novellae on Tractate Berakhot; (2) the introduction to Ben Zaken’s Sefer Gefen Poriyah, copied by Israel at Meknes (Morocco) on 19 Shevat 539 [1779]; (3) novellae on Tractate Pesahim with an added a colophon (in a different hand): copied by Meir Toledano and dated 4 Tammuz 539 [1779]; novellae on Tractate Kiddushin, dated Elul 539 [1779].
