    Hand-painted border Ink and gouache on parchment, 7 membranes, 25 text columns + benediction, 17-18 lines per column 155 × 2965 mm (6.1 × 116.7 in.) Wooden roller, 340 mm (13.4 in.)


    The scroll opens with the images of three animals: a lion, a lioness and a deer and the remainder of the scroll is adorned with repeating horseshoe arches that enframe the text panels and simple, geometric ornaments that are common to Islamic design. The upper margin also features images of birds, lions and fish as well as simple plants and geometric patterns. The scroll ends with a decorated panel surrounding the text of blessing recited after Megillah reading and a refrain of the liturgical poem.
